Blood-pressure drugs have driven some of the largest recalls of the past decade. From 2018, FDA recalled dozens of valsartan, losartan, and irbesartan products after nitrosamine impurities (NDMA and NDEA — probable human carcinogens) were found in the active ingredient made at overseas API plants. Recalls of these “sartans”, plus ACE inhibitors and diuretics, have continued since. Check your specific medicine below.

What should I do if my medication is recalled?
Check the lot number on your box or bottle against the recall record, then call your pharmacist about a replacement. Don't stop a prescribed medicine on your own — for blood-pressure, diabetes, thyroid, and antidepressant medicines especially, stopping abruptly can be dangerous.
What is a nitrosamine (NDMA) impurity?
