Class I drug recalls: what it means, and the current list

32 Class I drug recall(s) in the last 12 months · checked Jul 05, 2026

Public FDA recall information, not medical advice. Never stop a prescribed medicine without asking your pharmacist or doctor.

What is a Class I recall?

FDA classifies a Class I recall as one where the product is the most serious — a reasonable chance of serious harm or death (FDA's definition). Class I is the most serious, Class III the least. The class reflects FDA's risk assessment of the defect, not whether your specific lot is involved — always match your lot number to the record.
